Education for Development has been involved in non-formal training and development work since 1985.

This has included:

• Literacy training and capacity-building in Egypt;

• Evaluation of community schooling in the North West Frontier, Pakistan;

• Literacy materials development, India (various);

• Literacy materials development, Bangladesh;

• Development of a manual on learner-generated materials, Sierra Leone.

Literacy & Conflict Resolution Training Manual

Education For Development has published a well-received and substantial training manual Integrated Literacy and Peacebuilding: A guide for trainers and facilitators. This manual consists of an extensive range of activities both for the training of trainers and for use in literacy circles for adults.
